On December 19, 2024, China Petrochemical’s Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company successfully completed its phase two expansion and high-end new materials project. This development increased the refinery’s capacity to 40 million tons annually, making the Ningbo petrochemical base the largest in China, with a total refining capacity exceeding 50 million tons per year.
With a 41.6 billion yuan investment, the project features 18 new processing units, including atmospheric distillation, catalytic cracking, polypropylene, and propane dehydrogenation.
